From Japan to Switzerland
Shēdo was founded by Bella and Marjan, a Swiss-Canadian couple based in Zürich, united by a love for exceptional Japanese tea.
After years of drinking matcha every day and building relationships with producers across Japan, we set out to create a brand that honours traditional craftsmanship while bringing a fresh perspective from the city we call home.
Sourced with intention
We work with trusted producers across Kyoto, Shizuoka, and beyond, selecting teas for their quality, character, and craftsmanship.
From shade-grown leaves to traditional stone milling, every tea is carefully chosen because we genuinely love drinking it ourselves.
Inspired by Zürich
While our tea comes from Japan, our identity is rooted in Zürich.
Every Shēdo tea is named after a district that has inspired us and reflects the personality of each tea. Kreis 3 is our home neighbourhood, while Kreis 8 captures the elegance and energy of Zürich's lakeside.
